Born in Iran in 1966, Farshid started playing guitar at the age of 16. After moving to Strasbourg, France in 1983, he began collaborating with local rock and pop bands. Attracted to the Blues, he developed a passion for improvisation.

After studying in France, his focus turned toward composing and performing music. Farshid felt a growing attraction to traditional Persian music, especially the setar, a Persian lute. Under the musical assistance of Kourosh Yekrangi, Farshid familiarized himself with concepts of traditional Persian music and techniques of setar performance. Eventually, in collaboration with Mehrdad Tadayon, they formed "Ezzats", a band focusing on the fusion of blues and traditional Persian music.

Farshid met Angela, an established Tango and Salsa singer, who taught him the nuances of Latin music. He also performed in an all-percussion band.

In 1996, he formed "Viva Spring Trio" with the jazz guitarist Pascal Scheaffer and bassist Bruno Barge. Latin jazz defined their style, and resulted in the formation of "Internote". They toured Germany, France and Luxembourg and recorded a debut cd with many original compositions in 1997. They performed at several festivals such as:

After moving to the U.S., his collaboration with Amir Arab led to the creation of "Acoustic Internote". They performed throughout St. Louis and at several special events:

~ opening for Shahin and Sepehr (Sheldon Concert Hall), May 1999

Acoustic Internote was nominated "Best new band" in St. Louis, MO, by the RiverFront Times for the Slammies Festival 2000.

Interested in exploring different influences, Farshid created "Ensemble Esphahan" (traditional Persian, contemporary and improvised music) with the bassist Willem Von Hombracht.

Farshid began instructing guitar since 1997 and today, he is working on his musical adventure with "Farshid etniKo".
